Report Child Abuse

To provide a safe and child-friendly environment to conduct a forensic interview and offer follow-up services to families.

The healing tree is stationed in the CAC forensic interview room.  Its purpose is to allow children to color a leaf and attach it to the tree as a way of "leafing" behind their story and starting a new beginning.

The Healing Tree

The Children's Advocacy Center provides a safe place for children who have been victimized by severe physical or sexual abuse to be interviewed by a trained forensic interviewer.  Investigative professionals observe interviews by closed circuit television while the child's statements are preserved on video and audio tape.  These practices ensure quality interviews while reducing the number of times a child must make a statement, thus protecting the child from further trauma.

-COUNSELING - Crisis and on-going counseling services are offered to the child and non-offending family members.  Additionally, clinical services including individual, family, and group counseling are offered through the CAC on a referral basis to victims and non-offending family members, as well as outside community members.

-PERSONAL SAFETY PROGRAM - Program presented to K-4th grade students. Teaches children about okay/not okay touches, helps identify adults who can be trusted to go to for help.

-VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES - Case management, family greeter, court escorts, special events, center beautification projects, providing snacks/crafts and office assistance.
