"Souper Bowl of Caring" at Holy Rosary ChurchChild Advocacy Services is proud to recognize Holy Rosary Catholic Church Youth Ministry for their generous donation of funds gathered through the church’s “Souper Bowl of Caring” celebration of giving and serving. The Souper Bowl campaign is a nationwide movement that takes place around the time of the Super Bowl and it is aimed at fighting hunger and poverty in the community. The monies collected will aide in supporting the mission of Child Advocacy Services to give voice, healing, and security to children. Gonzales Regional Office Receives DonationA Grassmann Company, LLC (AGC) recently made a donation to Child Advocacy Services. AGC is an industrial sales and service company for the oic, gas, and chemical industry. Ascension CASA Volunteers Receive AwardCongratulations to the CASA Volunteers and Advisory Committee of Ascension Parish!!! On Tuesday, April 17, 2011, the Ascension CASA Volunteers were honored as Volunteer Ascension's Volunteers of the Year 2011 at their awards event held at the Clarion Inn Gonzales. Nominations were submitted from the community for those individuals or groups with outstanding volunteer service in 2011. The featured categories included "Youth" (Individual or Group), "Education/Community (Group), "Education/Youth Services (Individual) and "Community Service" (Individual). For the individual whose service spans over 10 years or longer, the category is "Lifetime Volunteer".
Volunteer Ascension, where Volunteers are Changing Lives, is a local not-for-profit service organization that strives to positively impact the needs of Ascension Parish by promoting and developing volunteerism. Through its volunteer based programs such as Community Services, ConnecTeens, Make A Difference Day, School Tools and School Uniforms, the organization provides nearly $500,000 in services and supplies to those in need in Ascension Parish. Patron Level Funders are Parish of Ascension, Atmos Energy Corporation, EATEL, St. Elizabeth Hospital, Grainger and Whitney Bank. Volunteer Ascension is a member of the Points of Light Institute/Hands on Network, and receives funding from the community and local private sector.

St. Amant Primary School Makes DonationSt. Amant Primary School had a dress down day on January 26, 2012 and raised $565 for CASA. They wanted to help raise awareness about child abuse and neglect and promote the need for more CASA volunteers.
